Kamala Harris appears to drop hint about her possible pick for vice president

The 2024 presidential election will mark another major turning point as Democratic nominee Kamala Harris reveals who she will pick as her running mate and may have dropped a hint as to who it will be.

Harris’ campaign Announced on Tuesday The vice presidential candidate announced that evening that he plans to make his first appearance with Harris on August 6 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Based on the location of the rally, many believe the vice presidential nominee will be Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.

Democrats recaptured Pennsylvania from Republicans in the 2020 election, and Shapiro’s election would help them retain the state in 2024.

After Philadelphia, Democratic candidates are scheduled to hold rallies in six other locations, including Detroit and Las Vegas.

The campaign added that Harris has not yet decided on a candidate.

Democrats critical of Israel see Shapiro as a threat to their efforts to tilt the Democratic Party against Israel and in favor of Palestinian demands. One group has even sought to nickname the governor “Genocide Josh.” Shapiro’s defenders say the accusations against him smack of anti-Semitism because he is Jewish.

Other potential vice presidential contenders include Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

President Joe Biden’s surprising decision to drop out of the presidential race and endorse Vice President Harris has completely changed the political landscape of the election. Votes found Eight in 10 Democrats say they would be satisfied if Harris became the party’s nominee.
