Kamala Harris lost to Donald Trump in the 2024 election, losing all key battleground states.
She met with Hillary Clinton multiple times after her defeat.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris' future remains uncertain months after her election loss to current President Donald Trump.
As she grapples with her next steps, Harris has spoken to family and close friends, including another person in her exact position, Hillary Clinton.New York・Magazine reported. The two sides have reportedly spoken several times since Harris' loss.
There is also speculation that she may run for California governor next year, as her close friend, Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, is term limited and cannot run again. Others believe she still has her eyes set on the Oval Office and will make another run for president. Immediately after the election, Harris told her advisers not to make any plans to prevent her from becoming president in 2028, according to New York Magazine.
Although the former vice president has not spoken directly about his future, he has hinted that he is not done with politics. Last week, just days before her term as then-President Joe Biden's vice president ended, Harris participated in the decades-old tradition of signing desk drawers and addressing the staff room. In brief remarks, Harris said “our work is not done yet” and that she did not intend to “sleep off quietly into the night.”
The comments she made to staff echo the message of her concession speech, in which she told supporters: “We will concede this election, but we will not concede the fight that fueled this campaign.” .
