Kamala Harris Campaign Raises $300 Million in August

Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign raised more than $300 million in August, more than double the amount raised by former President Donald Trump's campaign.

Harris is Raise The big investment came after President Joe Biden announced on July 21 that he would not seek the Democratic nomination.

According to two sources familiar with the Harris campaign's fundraising totals, the campaign plans to hold several fundraising events in September, including in major hubs such as New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

NBC News reported:

After the convention, a Harris campaign official said: Over $540 million Since Harris took over the campaign.

Harris' massive fundraising total comes on the heels of the Trump campaign announcing that its affiliates raised $130 million in August and had nearly $300 million in cash on hand, with the campaign reporting that 98% of donations that month were less than $200.

The Trump campaign and affiliates said they raised $130 million in August, with about $300 million of that on hand. The Trump campaign also said that 98% of its August donations came from donations of $200 or less.

“August's fundraising numbers reflect that movement, and bringing President Trump's America First movement back to the White House will help reverse Harris and Biden's abject failure,” Brian Hughes, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, said in a statement.

Harris, meanwhile, has refused to answer why her presidential campaign said she “does not support an electric vehicle mandate” despite her longstanding support for it in the White House and as a Democratic senator.

Axios Reported:

In a lengthy “fact-check” email last week that addressed several issues, a campaign spokesman included the sentence, “Harris does not support an electric vehicle mandate,” suggesting she had changed her previous position, without elaborating.

On August 28, Axios asked Harris' campaign to clarify her position and whether she would sign or veto a bill she co-sponsored in 2019 that included such a mandate for manufacturers.

The Harris campaign ultimately declined to comment Tuesday afternoon.

Harris also supported President Joe Biden's EV mandate, which would require that the majority of new cars built and sold in the US be electric or hybrid by 2032.
