Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday hardlined the Biden administration's policy of not supplying Israel with 2,000 pounds of precision weapons in response to Israel's decision to go after Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip city of Rafah.
The administration acknowledged that it withheld weapons shipments after Israel attacked Rafah, and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) accused the administration of delaying a variety of other weapons shipments approved by Congress.
This decision did not influence Israel's decision to invade Rafah, but it may have led to further deaths of Israeli soldiers who were forced to enter buildings where Hamas was hiding out instead of bombing – buildings that were often rigged with bombs or filled with Hamas terrorists lying in wait.

The decision, which also prompted an arms embargo by other countries, comes as Israel faces attacks not only from Hamas but also from Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and various Iranian-backed terror groups.
In a conversation with the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), which urged pressure on Israel, Harris stressed her support for the arms suspension.
“One of the things we've done that I fully support is putting a moratorium on the deployment of 2,000-pound bombs. We've used that to have some leverage, but what ultimately unlocks everything else in the region is getting this deal done,” Harris said. said.
The “deal” refers to the hostage and ceasefire agreement with Hamas, which has resisted all efforts at a deal so far. The Biden administration hopes to use the deal to forge a broader regional peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Last month, Harris said she was “open to” discussing a larger arms embargo on Israel, but then backtracked.
NABJ asked three questions about the Palestinian issue but none about criminal justice reform. Considered Just four years ago it was an emergency.
