House Republicans on Wednesday introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris over her knowledge of border enforcement and President Biden’s alleged cognitive impairment.
In two articles of impeachment, Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., obtained by Fox News Digital, accuses Harris of betraying the public trust and willfully refusing to comply with U.S. immigration law.
An earlier article on Public Trust accused Harris of “deliberately misleading the American people and the United States Congress, primarily to obscure the physical and cognitive health of United States President Joe Biden.”
The announcement comes as a growing number of Republicans are questioning what Harris knew about Biden’s mental health, and when, after even allies noted that the 81-year-old Biden’s mental health had deteriorated during his time in the White House.

The latter article targets Harris’ handling of the crisis on the southern border as the Biden administration’s “border secretary,” who was tasked from the start of the administration with addressing the root causes of mass migration from Central and South America.
The case has now become a linchpin in a Republican-led attack on the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee as states across the country continue to struggle with the migration crisis, even as the number of people crossing the border has slowed somewhat in recent months from record numbers last year.

“Kamala Devi Harris has demonstrated extraordinary incompetence in the discharge of her duties and responsibilities, adamantly refusing to comply with existing immigration laws, and manifest indifference to the American people who are suffering as a result of the ongoing crisis at our southern border,” the articles of impeachment state.
“During her tenure as Border Patrol Officer, U.S. Customs and Border Protection ‘encountered’ approximately 302,000 illegal immigrants at the Southwest border in December 2023, the highest monthly total ever recorded and the fourth consecutive month of ‘encounters’ with more than 240,000 illegal immigrants.”
Ogles’ article of impeachment is the latest in a House Republican legislative offensive against Harris since she succeeded Biden in the White House on Sunday.

Around the same time Rep. Ogles introduced her bill on Tuesday, the House Rules Committee passed a resolution from Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) criticizing Governor Harris over the border crisis. The bill is expected to come up for a vote by the full House later this week.
