Kamala Harris-led San Francisco legal team got poor reviews calling out ‘lack of leadership’: report

The legal team that future Vice President Kamala Harris led when she worked for the city of San Francisco more than 20 years ago received poor customer service ratings, with reviewers citing a “lack of communication and leadership” within the department. He specifically pointed out.

The 2002 Scorecard evaluated the work of the Family and Child Services Division of the San Francisco City Attorney's Office in handling child abuse and neglect cases. DailyMail.com reported.

The investigation was conducted by the Department of Human Services at the request of the City Attorney's Office, according to a copy of the document obtained by the news organization.

Harris' team scored highly on quality of work and understanding of the problem, but scored poorly in other categories, the report card clearly showed.

On a scale of 1 to 5, the team received a rating of 2 for being thorough, helpful, and proactive.

They received the same two points for being aware of deadlines, responding quickly, anticipating needs, and “returning emails and phone calls promptly.”

Harris' team, on the other hand, was given a rating of 3 for showing “good judgment”.

“Job performance varies widely among individual attorneys, which indicates a lack of communication and leadership within the department,” the review noted, adding, “A rating of 3 is not a lack of opinion, but a true middle ground.” It's the score,” he added.

The following year, Harris was elected district attorney of San Francisco, starting her career on an upward trajectory that brought her to the presidency.

Reports on Harris' shortcomings as a boss followed her from San Francisco to Washington.

In June 2021, a Politico report said the work environment Harris oversees was “chaotic” with a “tense and at times somber” atmosphere.

“People are being thrown from top to bottom of the bus, the fuses are short, conditions are poor,” said one source, who also claimed that staff were “treated as if…”

“It's not a healthy environment and people often feel abused.”

A few weeks later, Business Insider reported that employees from Harris' time as San Francisco district attorney described her as “unpredictable and sometimes demeaning.”

Other former staffers said Harris reportedly wanted to be briefed on the matter three days in advance, and had to move up scheduled briefings without aides' notice or delay preparation of materials. If they do not, they will be reprimanded.

Then, in December 2021, The Washington Post published an article that echoed previous reporting.

“It's clear you're not working with someone who is willing to prepare and do the work,” said one former staffer. “In Kamala's case, she also has to endure constant, soul-destroying criticism and her own lack of self-confidence. So you're always supporting the bully, but… I don’t really understand why.”
