Kamala Harris Posed for Second Vogue Cover as Hurricane Helene Destruction and Death Toll Mounts

Vice President Kamala Harris posed fashion The cover photo was taken on October 7, 2024, while search and rescue operations for Hurricane Helen survivors were still underway.

The cover was released on Friday, but the photoshoot took place earlier this week.

The photo shoot not only commemorates the first anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel that killed around 1,200 people, but also comes amid an ongoing search for survivors of Hurricane Helen.

Hundreds of people are still missing. More than 400 people are still missing, according to a Google Sheet started by volunteers. At least 230 people have died in five states, and the death toll is rising daily.

According to news and observerNorth Carolina's death toll reached 115 on Friday. The number of deaths the previous day was 92.

Additionally, approximately 70,000 homes and businesses in North Carolina and Georgia are still without power.

On the day of the photo shoot, which was not on the official schedule, Harris posted a website and phone number on X that survivors can contact for FEMA assistance.

Disaster assistance is available to survivors of Hurricane Helen throughout the Southeast.

However, as Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright pointed out in an interview with investigative journalist Sarah Carter, many residents do not have phones or computers due to dire conditions. Harris maintained that FEMA officials are going door to door offering assistance.
