Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about the Apalachee High School shooting during her campaign and made a number of gun control calls before she even knew about the shooting.
Harris spoke about the issue. By acknowledging“We are still gathering information about what happened…”
She added that “we must end the epidemic of gun violence in our nation for good.”
Harris then called for enacting an “'assault weapons' ban, universal background checks and red flag laws.”
She added, “Choosing between supporting the Second Amendment and wanting to take away everyone's guns is a false choice. I support the Second Amendment and I know our country needs reasonable gun safety laws.”
Breitbart News noted that other Democratic officials, including President Joe Biden, had been pushing for stricter gun control even before the facts of the Georgia shootings came to light.
