Kamala Harris ridiculed for rebranding campaign as a 'center for Gen-Z progressives'

Kamala Harris Faces Online Backlash After Campaign Account Relaunch

Former Vice President Kamala Harris found herself the target of widespread mockery online after she reactivated her campaign account, branding it as a “Gen Z-led progressive content hub.”

Since her defeat in the 2024 presidential election, there’s been a lot of chatter regarding her future political ambitions. Interestingly, her choice not to run for governor of California is arguably seen by many as a hint that she may have her sights set on the 2028 election.

The revamped account is labeled “HQ” with the handle “@headquotes_67,” which some interpret as a nod to the “6-7” meme. The account shared a video featuring Harris stating, “Welcome to HQ, the new progressive content hub led by Gen Z.” When Fox News Digital reached out to her office for clarification, a response was not provided immediately.

Recently, Harris mentioned she hasn’t made a decision about running for president in 2028, even though reports indicate she might be “taking steps” in that direction.

In the video, when asked about what’s happening at “Kamala headquarters,” Harris enthusiastically replied, “Well, I’m really glad you asked. I have some good news. So the Kamala headquarters is turning into a ‘headquarters.’ It’s basically a place where you can get updates online about what’s going on, and where you can also meet and revisit great and courageous leaders… I’m really looking forward to that. So stay active, and I’ll see you on the ground. Thank you.”

This video elicited a wave of criticism from numerous conservative commentators who viewed her initiative as poorly conceived or doubted her viability as a candidate.

One amusing remark came from the Republican Jewish Federation, which quipped, “On behalf of every Republican in the country, run, Kamala, run!” Meanwhile, another commentator jokingly indicated that her candidacy would actually bolster the Republican Party’s chances. A Republican adviser suggested that both sides of the aisle could agree that Harris’s political career should be over, expressing that perhaps her staffers hadn’t gotten the memo.

Social media strategist Greg Price offered a humorous take using a well-known GIF from SpongeBob SquarePants, portraying the event as a repeated lesson gone unheeded.

Some online reactions poked fun at the purported tie to the 6-7 meme. Conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller joked, “Six seven…you get it!” even as the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Brendan Carr, quipped, “I’ve never been so disappointed because Beyoncé didn’t perform.”

Mixed opinions swirl around Harris’s potential candidacy. Some Democratic voices are expressing hopes that both she and former President Joe Biden would step aside for others in the party to emerge.

Journalist Chris Rufo also chimed in, stating, “Kids tell me that ’67’ is already old, tired, and fed up. So, once again, Kamala is one step closer.”
