PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former President Donald Trump told Breitbart News that his general election opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, won’t give any actual interviews during the campaign, only “soft Democratic interviews” with people like ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.
Asked during the hour-long interview at his luxury seaside resort and club, Mar-a-Lago, for his reaction to Harris telling reporters she would schedule an interview by the end of August, Trump said he only meets with people who ask simple questions, not those who seriously press him on issues.
Trump likened it to how, after the debate, outgoing Democratic President Joe Biden asked for a quick interview with Stephanopoulos, whom Trump called “Slapadopoulos.” Stephanopoulos, of course, was a top adviser to former President Bill Clinton, a Democrat, before working at ABC.
“She’s going to go interview soft Democrats like Biden did. Biden went to Slapadopoulos,” Trump said. “That was the softest interview. I saw him attack Byron Donald, who is brilliant. The way he attacked him was brutal. Byron handled it like a fly on his back and shoved him away. Byron is very good. Did you see that interview? His brutality with Biden and the way he handled it was like he was trying to answer questions for Biden.”
Harris has not given an interview since becoming the Democratic presidential front-runner after Biden dropped out of the race, and she has only agreed to one debate, to be broadcast on ABC News, while Trump has agreed to that one and two others, to be broadcast on Fox News and NBC News.
But Trump told Breitbart News he doubted Harris would even want to do one debate.
“She doesn’t want to do a single debate either,” Trump said.
More details about Trump’s latest exclusive interview with Breitbart News will be released soon.
