Just days after much of the mainstream media bizarrely tried to deny that Vice President Kamala Harris was the Biden administration’s top border official, one prominent Democrat promised that if Harris wins the 2024 presidential election, she would quickly secure a “path to citizenship” for the millions of undocumented immigrants who have flooded into the country under her watch.
On Sunday, far-left Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts spoke out in response to her loss in the 2020 presidential election. Gender confused child He appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper to offer his opinion on the nominees for Secretary of Education.
While discussing the upcoming November showdown between Sen. Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, Tapper noted that the border issue remains one of Democrats’ “biggest weaknesses.”
“If you’re here, start packing now, because Donald J. Trump is being restored to the presidency.”
Warren countered by arguing that the president’s power to influence national immigration policy is “fairly limited,” and that it is up to Congress to solve the country’s immigration problems. Still, if Harris were president, she would almost certainly work with lawmakers to pass “comprehensive immigration reform,” including providing a “pathway to citizenship” for undocumented immigrants already in the U.S. Warren boasted..
“We need steps to put more resources at the border, put more resources in the states and cities that are helping immigrants, and I believe we need to create a pathway to citizenship,” Warren told Tapper.
“All of this is part of what we need to do for comprehensive immigration reform, and Kamala Harris will work with Congress to get it done,” she added in the video. here.
Warren defended Harris, saying:The number of people crossing the border has skyrocketed since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, but statistics show fewer people are crossing the border now than during the final year of the Trump administration. 250,000 In December alone, migrants crossed the border illegally.
Despite these numbers, Warren, who is up for reelection this year, seems confident that the border will be a winnable issue for Democrats in November. During her appearance with Jake Tapper, Warren openly challenged viewers to compare Harris’ record on the border with that of Donald Trump, who campaigned on a promise to deport illegal immigrants en masse.
“This is really about who do you trust at the border? Do you trust the people who are actually prosecutors, who are going into the border states, who are working with Congress to solve it? Or do you trust the people who say chaos is politically advantageous?” Warren said.
The Harris campaign did not respond to a request for comment from The Blaze News about Warren’s remarks.
Trump’s vice presidential candidate Senator J.D. Vance Vance, a Republican from Ohio, recently suggested that the Biden-Harris administration’s lax immigration policies could allow undocumented immigrants to ignore federal law and vote in November. “The worst part is that Kamala Harris would be willing to break all of those safeguards to stop them from voting,” he told a crowd at a rally in St. Cloud, Minnesota, on Saturday. “She’s putting control of our country in the hands of people who should never be here in the first place, and we can’t allow that.”
Vance also issued a warning to people who are in the US illegally: “If you’re in the United States, start packing now, because Donald J. Trump is going to be back as president.”
