Vice President Kamala Harris' latest campaign ad shows the wall along the US-Mexico border that was built under the administration of former President Donald Trump. The open section of the wall featured in the ad saw construction halted for a period during the terms of Harris and President Joe Biden.

Trump built a border wall in Sasabe during his presidency. Exchange The Obama-era vehicle barrier and aging fencing were removed with a new 30-foot bollard wall.
As of mid-January 2021, President Trump's final week in office, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was still building the border wall in Sasabe.
Construction ceased when Biden and Harris were inaugurated on January 21, 2021. Biden, with Harris' support, claimed the border wall was a “waste of money” and signed an executive order to halt construction.
“Trump's border wall is a complete waste of taxpayer money and will not make us safer,” Harris said. Written On Facebook in 2020.
Harris has since sought to portray herself as a defender of border control, even as the Biden administration has ended the Remain in Mexico policy, rescinded cooperative agreements with Central American countries and deployed a massive capture-and-release network at the border that has taken in more than 7 million migrants since the start of 2021.
