Secret Service Agent Assigned to Kamala Harris’ Stepdaughter Faces Criticism
Reports indicate that Ella Emhoff, Vice President Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, is assigned a female Secret Service agent who has faced challenges in meeting physical fitness requirements. This agent previously worked as a model, but sources note she did not pass crucial fitness tests during her service, according to RealClearPolitics.
Kimberly Cheatle, the former director of the Secret Service, emphasized diversity and inclusion during her time in office. However, she resigned following an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Secret Service insiders revealed that despite the agent’s ongoing fitness failures, she was retained in her role protecting Emhoff. Interestingly, the agent has been featured in a magazine and described herself on social media as a “nationally published curve model, plus-size fashion and fitness influencer, and body positivity advocate.”
One tweet highlighted concerns about the current state of Secret Service standards, suggesting that under the Biden administration, the expectations for agents have declined significantly.
Due to her inability to pass the fitness tests, this agent was transferred to the Special Services Division, where her responsibilities will involve maintaining armored vehicles and inspecting mail and packages arriving at the White House.
Anthony Guglielmi, the communications director for the U.S. Secret Service, stated that the agency is adhering to a January 2025 executive order, having phased out related programs within 60 days. Furthermore, he mentioned that under the leadership of Director Curran, the agency is committed to maintaining high standards and promoting based on merit.
Before Cheatle’s resignation, the number of female agents in the Secret Service had increased to 24%. In addition, a DEI chat space was set up to support employees from minority backgrounds in discussing workplace challenges.
Cheatle stepped down in July after providing testimony regarding the assassination attempt on Trump. Following her departure, House Oversight Committee Chairman Mike Johnson expressed that her resignation seemed premature and emphasized the need for the agency to restore public trust.
