Kamala Owns the DNC Anti-Israel Protest Chaos

Vice President Kamala Harris said she missed an opportunity to break with anti-Israel extremists who were in Chicago during the Democratic National Convention (DNC). The Wall Street JournalKimberly Strassel.

100,000 protesters Expectedrepresents a number of anti-Israel and other extremist causes. Only one pro-Israel group will be participating in the demonstration, and it did not receive a permit from the city to march to the Democratic National Convention.

Harris has praised the “sentiment” behind these protests, which have included anti-Semitic rhetoric and violence on college campuses and in the streets across the country.

While Harris said she doesn’t agree with everything that’s said at these protests, she recently hired liaisons to the Muslim and Arab communities who have experience with militant anti-Israel protests on campus, and she strongly disagrees with the idea that the protests are anti-Semitic.

Strassel Written:

[E]The enraged left isn’t going anywhere. Kamala HarrisDemocrats are considering Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as their running mate. She avoided that confrontation by choosing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, but what Democrats still don’t understand is that this crowd can only be appeased by total capitulation, which includes cutting off all support for Israel. To get a sense of the “unity” within the party, just watch the chaotic video of a Wednesday night rally held by New York Democrats ahead of next week’s convention, the after-party of which was besieged by a violent anti-Israel mob, many holding signs that read “Kamala = Genocide.”

The March on the DNC coalition includes 150 groups, including Black Lives Matter and Students for Justice for Palestine. They have already arranged for buses of protesters to travel to Chicago. They are calling for donations for “medical kits” and other supplies to “enable the March on the DNC coalition to withstand the crackdown by Chicago police.” Other groups include come Groups like Samidoun and Behind Enemy Lines are inciting “direct action” that goes far beyond marches. post “Now that the Gaza killers have come to Chicago, it’s time to step up this political fight,” it said. This includes “taking to the streets and actually stopping Genocide Joe and Killer Kamala.” Protests are planned outside the Israeli consulate, Poster “Make It Great Like ’68!” it read, a reference to the violence that took place outside the Democratic National Convention in Chicago that year.

How will Harris respond if chaos breaks out next week? Vagueness is not a good look. But in some ways, the opportunity to break with extremism and set a moral compass has passed. Just ask Minouche Shafik.

Shafik was president of Columbia University but resigned last week after being accused of failing to prevent anti-Semitic protests.

Notably, Harris raised bail funds for Black Lives Matter rioters in 2020 and participated in protests outside the White House. rear They were getting violent. She also called the federal law enforcement officers in Portland “paramilitary.”
