Kamala’s Campaign Is Over the Moment She Explains Policies

Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign wouldn't stand up to the scrutiny of a debate exposing her policies, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) told moderator Mike Slater on Tuesday. Breitbart News Daily.

Emmer spoke on the morning of what could be Harris' only debate with Donald Trump, and with several polls showing her post-coup popularity surge fading as Americans become more aware.

“The moment Kamala Harris steps on stage tonight and has to explain her policies without notes or a teleprompter, her campaign is over,” Emmer told Slater. “I have no doubt that Donald Trump will expose Harris as a San Francisco extremist and make the contrast between his America First and her America Last principles crystal clear.”

The contrast between Trump's record and the Biden-Harris pair could not be stark, and Emmer believes Trump will highlight that contrast on Tuesday night.

“Donald Trump knows how to get the economy going for everybody,” he said. “Donald Trump knows how to close down our southern border and stop the crime wave across this country. And Donald Trump knows how to maintain peace and stability around the world. And the problem that Kamala Harris and the Democrats had is that Americans, all Americans, whether you like Donald Trump or not, know that.” [Trump] We did it once before, but Joe broke it, so we're going to fix it now.”

Despite the apparent discrepancy between their records and visions, Emmer warned that Harris has become adept at lying about her own record.

“Her abilities should not be underestimated,” he warned. “I think, and this may be controversial, that she is a pathological liar. It doesn't matter what she has done or whether she was involved. The most recent example was the Afghanistan withdrawal. She blames Trump for the failure to withdraw that resulted in the loss of 13 lives, and then takes credit for being in the war room when the final decision to withdraw was made. So she just ignores the truth and says whatever she wants.”

Emmer said Harris' “corrupt left-wing media allies” had allowed her to lie and that she had an obligation to reveal her true record.

“They don't necessarily hold those people accountable. They don't blame her. So we have to hold them accountable,” he argued. “And I say again, I think you're right. She can say whatever she wants, but when you have to make a choice, people ask, 'Are you happier now than you were four years ago?' And the answer is clearly no. It's 'Who's in office and responsible for this' versus 'Who's actually built a functioning economy, secured our southern border, maintained peace and stability around the world?' And again, Mike, when you have that contrast, the choice is a very easy one.”

Slater highlighted attack ads that highlight former Trump subordinates' opposition to the president and asked Emmer how Trump should respond to similar attacks at the debates.

“At the end of the day, they obviously weren't the best people,” Emmer explained.[Trump] People [were] “I'm not going to get through the whole job. Same with Liz Cheney. It's just bitterness.”

He went on to say that Trump should respond: “People can say what they want. Love me or hate me. But at the end of the day, I fixed the problems that they broke. She broke them over the last four years. I can fix them again. It's the economy, it's the border, it's safety and security around the world.”

Emmer said that if Trump asked her for debate advice, she would reply, “Let her talk, sir, let her talk.”

He continued, “His policies have been very clear and very effective. There are a lot of people out there who don't necessarily like the president's personality, but we all agree, Mike, that his policies have actually made life better for every American and probably people all over the world during his presidency. And I would say to him, get that straight and let her speak, because without memos or a teleprompter, she doesn't understand economic growth, she doesn't understand foreign policy, she doesn't care about securing our southern border. That should have been pretty clear over the last four years.”
