Alberts had invited groups of people, including Reed and O’Keefe, for an afterparty the night he passed away.

Like O’Keefe, Albert was a Boston police officer. His brother was a member of the Canton Police Station and was the first to respond to the scene. He had another brother in politics, with family friend Michael Proctor as the chief investigator.

Proctor was fired last month as an internal investigation stemming from a text message he sent about a case revealed at the first READ trial last year. Canton Police has been exempt from allegations of conspiracy in an independent audit released three weeks ago.
