Although the Arizona Supreme Court recently ruled to uphold the blanket ban on abortion, Kali Lake’s moderate response drew criticism from abortion opponents, including Allie Beth Stuckey.
The court allowed the 1864 law banning abortion to remain in place, but Lake criticized it as “out of step with the state’s people.”
“A very moderate, sophisticated, pragmatic, pseudo-sympathetic stance that actually we need to go more centrist on abortion,” Stuckey says. “Absolutely terrible.”
“I agree with President Trump,” Lake said in a video posted to X. “This is a very personal and private matter. I have made a choice in life, but I am not every woman. I want to help every woman who gets pregnant make the same choice that I did. We want to give you options.”
Stuckey calls Lake’s position what she thinks is a “pro-abortion, pro-abortion position.”
“That’s exactly what Planned Parenthood believes. That’s exactly what pro-abortion, pro-abortion activists have been saying for literally decades,” she says. “We’re talking about murder, okay? We’re talking about cutting up babies. There’s not a lot of nuance to this.”
Stuckey believes that what she is saying is not a true belief, but a gimmick to get ahead.
“I see what she’s doing. She realizes that she lost the women’s vote in Arizona because she was too aggressive and not appealing at all, and now she We’re trying to get women back,” Stuckey said, but she doesn’t believe this is a victory. strategy.
“We’re going to give them a little bit of baby killing, or maybe a lot of baby killing. We don’t know exactly what their stance is, but ultimately we’re going to win the election and we’re going to end up going to war.” I think it’s strategically stupid. I don’t think it will work.”
