The concerns about former President Joe Biden’s health have resurfaced, particularly in light of his inauguration. His administration’s officials had consistently defended his mental and physical capabilities. White House press secretary Karine Jean Pierre was particularly vocal in denying any signs of cognitive decline since 2022.
In June 2022, when CNN anchor Don Lemon posed a question about Biden’s stamina for a second term, Jean Pierre seemed taken aback. “That’s not a question we shouldn’t even ask,” she remarked, referring to any claims of cognitive decline as mere “hearsay.”
According to a forthcoming book, there were deeper worries within Biden’s inner circle. Officials apparently expressed concerns about his debate performance and even questioned if he might need a wheelchair if re-elected.
Jean Pierre pushed back at these rumors, saying that treating Biden like a child was absurd. During a press conference in August 2023, she refuted allegations that he was mishandling classified documents, stating that such claims were disconnected from reality.
Yet, the new book titled “Original Sin” by CNN anchor Jactopper and Aquios Reporter Alex Thompson reveals troubling insights. It mentions that Cabinet officials struggled to have access to the president, further amplifying the unease about his leadership.
When confronted with claims regarding Biden’s debate performance, Jean Pierre insisted he was sharper than ever. However, following Biden’s exit from the 2024 race last July, she faced questions about whether there had been any cover-up regarding his health. She firmly dismissed those allegations, stating, “First of all, there was no cover-up,” and expressed the need to clarify that point.
Throughout it all, Jean Pierre maintained a strong front, contradicting the narratives rising from both opponents and supporters within the Democratic party, reflecting the complex dynamics surrounding Biden’s presidency.
