ICE Shooting Controversy in Minneapolis

On Monday, White House press secretary Caroline Levitt accused Democrats and mainstream media of deliberately misrepresenting the facts surrounding the recent ICE officer-involved shooting in Minneapolis. She stated that she felt compelled to retract the coverage from “American Report.”

Levitt asserted, “They had to alter their narrative.” This statement follows the incident from January 7, where an ICE officer fatally shot a woman named Renee Nicole Good, who allegedly attempted to run the officer over with her vehicle. The use of deadly force has sparked significant debate.

The Department of Homeland Security claimed that Good had been “stalking” an ICE officer, a point reinforced by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who argued that the officer acted in self-defense.

In contrast, Democratic leaders, including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, denounced the shooting as murder, criticizing the Trump administration’s approach as “lawless violence.”

Levitt intensified her claims, insisting that Democrats were spreading “despicable” lies about the incident. She referenced initial statements from local officials, including the Minneapolis mayor, who claimed no car had struck a police officer and that deadly force wasn’t warranted. “But there’s video evidence showing the officer was indeed hit and that Good was weaponizing her car,” she explained, suggesting this constituted domestic terrorism.

When asked by Fox News anchor John Roberts if she believed President Trump endorsed the actions of ICE agents, Levitt replied, “Absolutely.” She further stated that as more evidence surfaces, it will demonstrate that the officer acted justifiably and that Trump was correct in his stance.

Levitt highlighted that Minneapolis isn’t alone; she described a situation where “organized paid adversaries” have attempted to hinder law enforcement in various locations. “They target ICE officers to prevent them from doing their jobs,” she asserted.

In defense of the ICE officer’s response to Good, Levitt characterized him as “experienced” and “brave.” She emphasized that he had undergone thorough training and had dedicated years to protecting communities. “He faced a tough decision, forced upon him by agitators working across the nation,” she concluded.
