“It's very irresponsible for Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.) to say something like that when the investigation is still underway,” Press Sec said. Fox News“The US will report late Tuesday.
“Unfortunately, this crash took place in Canada's airspace and is overseen by Canadian air traffic controllers,” she said.
This comes after the Trump administration referenced the FAA cuts that have been made in the past few weeks after Democratic Senate Majority Leader fired multiple posts in X.
“We are grateful that everyone in the Toronto flight incidents that took off from Minneapolis is safe, but we keep watching these incidents every day. Meanwhile, Trump has made a massive layoff at the FAA. – including safety experts – and making our skies more and more secure,” Schumer wrote.
“For those who ask if it's important for the plane's destination to be in Canada, the flight took off from Minneapolis. The FAA is still responsible for inspecting aviation equipment, and Trump has made FAA safety experts. I let it go,” he added.
His comments are part of a fatal conflict that took place between an American Airlines plane and the Army Black Hawk helicopter that killed all 67 people at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in January. It comes after you have held responsibility for the FAA standards.
Leavitt pushed back further, pointing out the fact that Canadian air traffic controllers are responsible for directing planes prior to crash landing, and that “air traffic controllers have not been let go” by the Trump administration.
“In fact, the secretary [Sean] Duffy has a big emphasis on hiring the best, brightest air traffic controllers who want to be part of the FAA,” continued Leavitt.
She further argued that the Biden administration had been sitting “on hand when it comes to aviation safety for four years.”
The spokesperson's latest statement comes as officials are still investigating multiple possibilities of crashes, including weather conditions, human error and aircraft malfunctions.
Video of the collision circulating throughout social media showed the plane hit the ground so hard that it hit the ground, causing it torn as its right wing plunged into an ice-snow runway.
The jet, which had come from Minneapolis, was in flames before turning it completely over.
It's nothing but a miracle, all 80 people on the flight survived, but 18 people were injured and three seriously injured.
