Kate Middleton has completed her chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

The mother of three shared an update on her health on social media on Monday.

“As summer draws to a close, I am relieved to finally be finishing my chemotherapy treatments,” wrote the 42-year-old. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough on our family. Life can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate rough waters and unknown paths.”

“The cancer journey is complicated, scary and unpredictable for anyone, especially those close to you,” she said. “It humbles you and forces you to confront your vulnerabilities in ways you never thought possible, which gives you a new perspective on everything. More than anything, this experience has reminded William and me to reflect on and be grateful for the simple but important things in life that so many of us take for granted: to love and to be loved. Doing what I can to avoid cancer is my focus now.”

“Although my chemotherapy has ended, the road to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” she continued. “However, I look forward to returning to work and taking part in a few official engagements when possible in the coming months. Despite all that I have been through, I am entering a new stage in my recovery with renewed hope and gratitude for life.”

“William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have been so strengthened by all those helping us during this time. We are truly humbled by your kindness, empathy and compassion. To all those who continue to fight cancer: I stand with you, shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand. Out of darkness comes light. Let's let that light shine brightly.”
