Duchess Kate and her husband Prince William said they were “deeply touched” by the outpouring of support the Princess of Wales received after revealing her cancer diagnosis.

In a video message on Friday, Middleton, 42, revealed that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy after a scheduled abdominal surgery revealed “the presence of cancer.”

On Saturday, Middleton and William issued a joint statement through Kensington Palace, expressing their gratitude for the blessings.

A spokesperson for the couple told Reuters: “The Prince of Wales has been deeply touched by the kind messages we have received from people here in the UK, the Commonwealth and around the world in response to the Prince’s message.” Told.

“They have been extremely touched by the warmth and support of the public and appreciate their understanding of their request for privacy at this time.”

Middleton shared an update on her health after undergoing major surgery earlier this year, but did not elaborate on the type or extent of her cancer in her video message. Middleton said in the video that her condition was initially thought to be non-cancerous.

Shortly after the video was shared to the couple’s social media accounts, King Charles III issued a statement supporting his daughter-in-law.

In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, the monarch said: “I am extremely proud of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge’s brave words.” “In recent weeks, he has remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law,” Charles said.

The statement added that Prince Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, “continue to offer their love and support to the entire family through this difficult time.”

Charles revealed in February that he had been diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer after undergoing surgery for an enlarged prostate in January. He and Ms Middleton were treated at a London clinic and released from hospital on the same day, January 29.

Prince William’s estranged brother Prince Harry, Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle also sent a message of support.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes told Fox News Digital: “We wish Kate and her family health and healing and hope that they can live in peace in their private lives.”

Duchess Kate’s brother James Middleton took to Instagram on Friday to show his support for his sister, sharing a photo of him and her when they were young.

“Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too,” she added with a mountain and red heart emoji.

Hashtags such as “WeLoveYouCatherine” and “GetWellSoonCatherine” trended on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, with political leaders, celebrities and cancer survivors sending messages of support.

“Princess Kate, millions of people around the world are praying for your full recovery,” President Biden said in a social media post along with First Lady Jill Biden.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said: “She has been subjected to intense scrutiny and unfair treatment in certain sections of the media and on social media around the world.” “She showed great courage in what she said.”

Mr Sunak was referring to speculation about Mr Middleton’s health and whereabouts that dominated headlines and social media after the palace announced in January that he would undergo surgery and be away from royal duties until Easter.

The princess last appeared in public on December 25th and has only been spotted a few times since then. A photo of Ms Middleton and her three children released by Kensington Palace on Mother’s Day was revealed to have been significantly altered, adding to concerns about her welfare. .

Friday’s video message was the first major update on Middleton’s condition, but it was not immediately clear when she would return to public life.

Prince Middleton and Prince William were not expected to join other royals at the traditional Easter Sunday service in Windsor.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: “The Princess will return to royal duties once her medical team has given her permission to do so.” She said: “She is doing well and she is focused on making a full recovery.”
