Duchess Kate made quite the impression as she arrived at a state dinner, wearing what might be the most impressive tiara she’s ever donned.
On December 3, the Princess of Wales attended a glamorous event at Windsor Castle alongside her husband, Prince William, King Charles, and Queen Camilla. This dinner celebrated the state visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to the UK.
For the occasion, Kate debuted the Queen Victoria Oriental Circlet Tiara, pairing it with a dazzling sequined cape dress by her favorite designer, Jenny Packham.
The tiara had a rich history, originally a gift from German-born Prince Albert to Queen Victoria, symbolizing the bond between Britain and Germany. Kate complemented her look with earrings that belonged to Queen Elizabeth II, along with the sash and star from the Royal Order of Merit and the Royal Victorian Order.

The Oriental Circlet is considered one of the most important pieces from the Victorian era within the Royal Collection. Initially set with opals—one of Albert’s favorite gems—it’s now adorned with rubies and 2,600 diamonds, featuring lotus flowers and Mughal architecture inspired designs.
Interestingly, it seems that Kate chose this particular tiara as a sign of respect for her German guest.
