Kate Middleton’s fake-photo fiasco proves the secretive royals must come clean

Britain’s greatest monarch, the late great Queen Elizabeth II, had a very simple philosophy. She never complains, never explains, and is almost never heard speaking in public.

It’s a consistently successful formula that has made her one of the most beloved global public figures of my lifetime.

And conversely, royals who choose to do the exact opposite – like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who never stop complaining, explaining and ranting in public – have become incredibly unpopular.

But conspiracy theories about Duchess Kate’s secret health crisis and disappearance from public life have led to disturbing confusion about what kind of cancer King Charles is suffering from and how serious his condition is. And it was made worse by the doctored family photo she posted yesterday. That the old palace way of dealing with the media is becoming increasingly outdated and unworkable.

The problem is social media.

In the absence of facts, platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok have become hotbeds of wild royal gossip and intrigue 24/7.

Some of the articles I’ve read about Kate are shockingly false, ridiculous, and downright offensive.

Similarly, I was appalled by the avalanche of inaccurate nonsense spewed out about Charles.

But given how little we know about the health status of two of the most famous people on the planet, is it really any surprise that the public has fallen into such proliferating conspiracy theory mode?

And to think that one of them, the wife of Britain’s next King, is now “seriously trying to deliberately mislead them”?

It’s almost unbelievable that Duchess Kate decided to heavily edit her first official photo since leaving the hospital and have it released to the press without the Palace’s knowledge, in order to put an end to all the crazy rumors about her. That’s not true. For general dissemination.

The photo was charming as she was surrounded by her three children, all smiling happily.

The princess in the center looked very healthy.

The photo agency deleted the image, saying it had been digitally “manipulated.” via Reuters

She wrote a personal caption, saying, “Thank you for your warm wishes and continued support over the past two months.” I hope everyone has a happy Mother’s Day. C.

And this reaction was a widespread sigh of relief from royal fans around the world who are increasingly concerned about what is really happening to their favorite princess.

‘thank god! Kate is fine! ” That was the general reaction in the first few hours after the photo was posted on Instagram.

Especially since the palace further explained that the photo was taken by her husband Prince William last week.

However, late Sunday night, shocking news emerged that several prestigious news agencies had deleted the photo and withdrew its publication due to concerns that the image had been manipulated by the source.

That can only mean one thing: either William, Duchess Kate, or someone close to the palace tampered with it.

The photo was fake, but we now know it was a very elaborate fake.

In fact, internet sleuths have identified at least 16 different designs, from Kate’s misplaced zipper and fuzzy hands to Charlotte’s abruptly cut hair and unwashed knees to George’s artificial-looking sweater edges. I was quick to argue that the points were wrong or strange. And Louis’ unsteady fingers. Even the stone ledges in the background seemed distorted, and the leaves on the trees were surprisingly lush and green for mid-March England.

As pressure mounts on Kensington Palace for an explanation, Duchess Kate issued a second unprecedented statement “Like many amateur photographers, I also experiment with editing from time to time. I would like to apologize for any confusion the family photo I shared yesterday may have caused. I wish everyone celebrating a very happy Mother’s Day. I hope so.C.

But the problem with this statement is what she isn’t saying.

Was that photo really taken last week or is it an old photo taken before she got sick?

She looked very different from the images that TMZ paparazzi captured of her being driven around by her mother a few days earlier.

This is not a trivial issue.

The answer to this question is critical to public trust in publicly funded institutions.

I am so sorry that Kate has had health issues that have kept her out of the public eye and duties for so long.

But my sympathy will wane if it turns out that she and the palace deliberately misled the media and public about when the photo was taken. giving a false impression about her condition.

How foolish of them to publish heavily edited photos to thwart conspiracy theories!

Completely predictably, the truth about Kate’s secret edits is quickly unraveling, and conspiracy theories about her are raging even more out of control than before.

The obvious thing for the Palace to do is to release the original, unedited image so we can see for ourselves just how fooled we were, and exactly when it was taken. It’s about telling.

but so far they are refusingit merely serves to fuel something called “Katespiracy.”

And you don’t have to be a conspiracy theorist to think why.
