Katie Pavlich shares her experience of the chaotic events following the WHCD shooting

During the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, NewsNation anchor Katie Pavlich was taken aback by yet another plot to target the president. Reflecting on the incident, she expressed her feelings of anger and frustration about the recurring nature of such events.
Pavlich shared on “The Glenn Beck Program,” discussing her concerns about security during the event, particularly when she saw Caroline Leavitt, who is nine months pregnant, needing to be evacuated because of the potential danger. “It’s just infuriating that this kind of situation is tolerated,” she stated.

She remarked on how security at the dinner didn’t seem robust enough. “I honestly thought it would be harder to get into the hotel, especially at night, but it was quite easy,” she told Glenn. She mentioned encountering protesters who were vocally disrupting the evening, stating they wanted to ruin the festivities.

Although she acknowledged the security protocols were lacking, Pavlich noted that the president was swiftly evacuated, and the situation seemed to stabilize quickly after the initial chaos began. “When the gunshots rang out, it felt contained, as it ended quickly. There were just five gunshots, nothing more,” she explained.

She suggested this indicated that the Secret Service, or other law enforcement present, effectively handled the issue without further complications arising in the room. Additionally, she mentioned there were connectivity issues, implying that without proper signal access, communication could be disrupted during emergencies.

Glenn chimed in, explaining that when the president is present, communication devices are typically turned off to prevent potential threats. Pavlich agreed, noting, “There are so many security questions that linger.” She added, “It might even be a blessing that the attacker was inexperienced.”
