Kelly Clarkson made her first social media return following the passing of her ex-husband and former manager, Brandon Blackstock.
She took a moment to commemorate 23 years since winning “American Idol.” Clarkson expressed gratitude to everyone who supported her back then, saying, “Thank you to everyone who called me 23 years ago and took a long time to vote for me.” She added that gaining a place on “American Idol” was life-changing, and she feels immense appreciation for all the backing she’s received throughout her journey. “It’s a reminder that life can lead you to your passions and allow you to make a living from them. Thank you as always,” she wrote.
This post is significant, marking her first online statement since Blackstock’s death.
Reports confirmed that Brandon Blackstock died peacefully on August 7 at his home in Butte, Montana, while under hospice care, surrounded by family. His death resulted from melanoma, a form of skin cancer. He was just 48 years old.
Family representatives shared their grief, acknowledging that Blackstock bravely battled cancer for over three years before passing. They asked for privacy for the family during this challenging time.
Clarkson’s Las Vegas residency has been put on hold, and it’s uncertain if she will be able to resume her performances. Interestingly, her website still lists the November show dates.
Additionally, her talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” is set to resume production on September 8 and aims to start its seventh season on September 29. Upcoming guests reportedly include notable names like Julia Roberts, Dwayne Johnson, and Emily Blunt.
