Reality TV star and podcaster Kelly Osbourne, who recently gave birth to a son, has said she plans to leave the United States once her son is old enough to go to school, citing school shootings.
Osbourne, who has a son with Slipknot rocker Syd Wilson, announced her plans to leave the country in an Instagram Story. Newsweek has reached out to her for further comment. Osborne said“I am going back to the UK but not until my children are old enough to go to a UK school because we want them to go to a UK school.”
Osbourne, the daughter of heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne, Bit the head off of a bat Speaking onstage in 1982, he added, “I don't want to explain what to do if someone comes into my school with a gun. That's the main reason.”
Newsweek magazine then presented data collected by the K-12 School Shootings Database, highlighting school shootings.
The K-12 School Shootings Database defines “school shooting” so broadly that Newsweek was forced to point out that while one dataset indicates that there have been eight school shootings since the Columbine High School shooting in 1999, the K-12 School Shootings Database indicates that there have been over 2,000. This is because the K-12 School Shootings Database counts even the act of brandishing a gun as a shooting. The database also counts incidents where bullets strike the school building (but not students, faculty, or staff) as “school shootings.”
K-12 School Shootings Database Pushing false claims “Guns are the No. 1 cause of death among children in America.” Breitbart News has repeatedly used 2020 figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to show that this claim is based on counting 18- and 19-year-olds as “children,” because doing so brings shootings by gang members and street criminals into the discussion. When the age of children is protected to exclude those of voting age, the CDC numbers show that more children are killed by cars than by guns.
Moreover, according to CDC data that the Left omits, even if we maintain the age range of 0-19, the number of unintentional motor vehicle deaths in those age groups in 2020 was 27 times higher than the number of unintentional gun deaths in that age group.
