Kelly Ripa isn't just a “bad girl” who wants beauty sleep and a better playlist.
this morning live with kelly and markMark Consuelos discussed AirBnb's use of “.anti-party technology” ahead of New Year's Eve, Ripa recalled a neighbor who moved in and rented out her townhouse to students during the “heyday” of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“There were students staying on certain floors,” she recalled. “And this one floor was being rented out to someone who was probably staying there as a student or something. But they were holding illegal raves, like discos.”
Consuelos said she was in Vancouver at the time, and Ripa complained that loud music and flashing lights “wake me up” on work nights.
“First I called 3-1-1. Then I called 9-1-1,” she explained. “9-1-1 was like, 'Ma'am, this party is not an emergency.' And I was like, 'What can I do to stop them?'”
Ripa took issue not only with the fact that such gatherings “should not have taken place” during the pandemic, but also with the “irritating” music.
“It's not like it's my playlist,” she added. “And then I called 3-1-1 again and nothing. And finally, in the middle of the night in the winter, here I am, in a bathrobe like a madman, going over there and banging on the door. .”
Ripa said she didn't know which floor the rave was on and was “ringing all the buzzers,” but she was eventually buzzed to the correct floor, where she was asked if she wanted an Uber.
