Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. will become the first father-son duo in Major League history, and on Tuesday we will see the possibility of another father-son tag team playing in the same NBA game.
Ken Griffey Jr. said in an interview on SiriusXM this week that LeBron James and Bronny James could potentially play together for the Lakers when they play the Timberwolves in the season opener. He admitted that he was planning to go to the venue with his father.
“I’m actually going to go to the game and I’m going to take my dad,” Griffey Jr. said. “It's a big deal for my dad and I to be there because it's the first father and son to play baseball and now the first father and son to play basketball. We made history. And now we're going to see history.”
The older James and the younger James shared the court once during the preseason, but it didn't result in an assist, and there's still some mystery as to whether they'll play together.
“Nothing has been decided yet,” Lakers head coach JJ Redick told reporters. According to ESPN.
Bronny James told the media it would be a “crazy experience” for Griffeys to be in attendance for Tuesday's game.

“It's going to be crazy,” Bronny James said. “Only two families do it, so it's going to be a crazy experience, especially considering what they did.”
Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. were teammates in 1990 and 1991 when they played together for the Mariners.
The two first played together in a 5-2 win over the Royals on August 31, 1990, and famously hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning of a loss to the Angels on September 14. , 1990.
The Lakers are scheduled to tip off at 10 p.m. ET.
