Kendall Gray Claims NXT Women’s Championship

Kendall Gray made quite an impression at the Great American Bash, stepping into the ring as a promising rookie eager to establish her name within the WWE NXT roster.

Facing off against Laura Vice, the reigning NXT Women’s Champion, Gray had her sights set on leaving the WWE Performance Center with the championship title by the end of the night. Donning attire reminiscent of Kurt Angle, she managed to do just that.

In an intense match, Gray and Vice grappled on the mat, exchanging forearm hits in a flurry of movement. Just as it seemed one might go down, both countered with surprising resilience. Gray skillfully dodged Vice’s spinning backfist, utilizing the middle turnbuckle to launch a decisive attack known as Shades of Gray, eventually leading Vice to her defeat.

The celebration for WWE Women’s Speed Champion Len Sinclair and her family has begun. After three attempts, Gray emerged victorious, winning the NXT Women’s Championship, although her reign concluded after 85 days.

Gray, who joined the NXT roster in April, previously held the WWE Evolve Women’s Championship for 146 days before making the jump to NXT. Her first title shot at New Year’s Evil ended in a loss to Jaycee Jayne, but she regained her footing at Stand & Deliver, where she triumphed in a triple threat match against Jayne and Vice to secure the title.

Now, after finally clinching the championship, Gray can rightfully claim the title of NXT Women’s Champion.

On the other hand, Vice remains the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion alongside Mr. Iguana and has hinted at possible appearances in a Mexican promotion following her recent AAA bouts.

As of now, it’s unclear who will challenge Gray next for the NXT Women’s Championship, leaving both fans and the champion herself in anticipation.
