Kennedy Center director wants Republican attendance, ‘everyone’ to feel welcome

Rick Grenell, interim director of the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, joined “Hanity” on Thursday to preview the efforts he and his team are working hard to turn the facility into a “everyone is welcome.”

President Donald Trump announced that he was elected chairman of Grenell as leader and leadership on February 10 after being fired and refilled by the Center's board of trustees.

One popular show that cancelled plans to perform at the Kennedy Center was Broadway's production, “Hamilton.”

The show's producer, Jeffrey Seller, released an official social media statement on Wednesday.

“This latest action by Trump means it's not the Kennedy Center as we know it,” show creator Lynn Manuel Miranda said in a joint interview with the seller on Wednesday.
