It was such a great victory that fans rushed onto the field twice.
Kennesaw State suffered its first loss of the season to previously undefeated Liberty University on Wednesday night, pulling off perhaps the biggest upset of the college football season.
The night was made even more exciting by the fact that the Owls, who entered the game without a win, defeated the Flames 27-24, earning the program's first FBS win.
Fans were excited about Kennesaw State's historic moment, but they may have been a little too enthusiastic when they rushed to the celebration a second early.
When the game appeared to be over, with about one tick still left on the clock, fans flooded the field.
Nevertheless, the game wasn't over, and Liberty was able to get one more play to within three points.
Liberty appeared to make a half-hearted attempt at a win, with QB Kaidon Salter throwing a short pass to Julian Gray, who fumbled while trying to throw it back to a teammate.
Gray picked up the ball, but was tackled and fell to the ground, ending the game.
This gave fans a chance to run back onto the field and celebrate.
What made this win so impressive was that Liberty was undefeated and a 25.5 point favorite against a team that advanced to the FBS this season.

It was also the first time in 23 years that a team with an 0-5 record defeated a team with a record of 5-0 or higher. According to ESPN.
“I couldn’t be more proud of that group of young men.” Kennesaw State coach Brian Bohannon said.. “The coaches and staff have persevered through some difficult times.
“You came out here tonight and fought off our tails. What's wrong with you, that weird baby owl?”
