A Kentucky man is accused of drinking beer while intoxicated and causing his son to jump out of his truck and fall into a coma.
Austin Brooks, 40, was driving under the influence last week in Scott County with his son and nephew in the back of a pickup truck on the way to buy beer, his nephew told deputies. Ta. According to WKYT.
Brooks was driving too fast as he headed toward Porter Road, especially because the road was wet, his nephew said.

The two boys banged on the cab of the truck to get Brooks' attention.
However, according to the arrest warrant, the boys were so intoxicated that they feared for their lives and jumped out of the truck.
Sources say Brooks never stopped the truck even after the boys jumped out.

Brooks' nephew suffered minor injuries, but her son is in a coma at the University of Kentucky Hospital with possible brain damage.
He is charged with wanton endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor and leaving the scene of an accident.
