Louisville Family Seeks Answers After Home Invasion and Bank Robbery

A father from Louisville is calling for accountability after a repeat offender, released early from a lengthy prison sentence, invaded his home. Brandon Strong shared his distressing experience, stating that the offender, who wielded a knife, coerced him and his two sons during a robbery at their local PNC bank.

Reflecting on the frightening incident, Strong remarked on how shocking it was to receive such news. “It’s a call you never expect to get as a father, husband, or just as a human,” he explained on a recent broadcast.

The individual in question, Armand Langford, reportedly broke into Strong’s house, forcing him to lead him to the bank. After the robbery, Langford managed to escape, leading to a significant police manhunt before his eventual capture. Strong’s wife sustained injuries and required hospitalization due to a stab wound.

Langford has an extensive criminal history, having committed 19 robberies. Although he was sentenced to 14 years in February 2024, he was granted shock probation just six months later by Judge Jessica Green. This type of probation often allows for early release under strict supervision, based on the premise that the initial incarceration serves as a deterrent against future offenses.

Currently, Langford is in custody with a bond set at $1 million. Many are questioning the decision to grant him early release, and Strong has voiced his frustration toward the judicial system. “This was not a surprise to anyone… It’s a pattern that’s gone back nearly a decade,” he remarked, emphasizing the serious nature of Langford’s crimes. “I can’t believe this was allowed to happen. This wasn’t just a minor offense.”
