This week, a new voice broke out in NBC's Maui Sentry coverage.
Four-time PGA Tour winner Kevin Kisner made his broadcast debut during Friday's second round of play, and it was an impressive result.
The public loved his commentary.
Kisner provided the perfect balance of nerdiness and humor while not talking too much. Sure, he made some mistakes, but overall his debut was a great start.
So after his first broadcast, in Kisner's appearance, he trolled people on Twitter who thought: he won't make it through.
Kisner seemed to enjoy his air time, and Golf Channel seemed to enjoy it as well. They even created a highlight reel to show how good he was on air.
Kisner's appearance also became a hot topic on Golf Twitter.
There were some people who didn't enjoy South Carolina's broadcasts, but they were in the minority.
Most fans loved Kisner on the air. He was a natural person, and it did not go unnoticed.
The reaction to the debut should boost confidence heading into the rest of the weekend.
Kis is as great as expected in the booth.
It's more than just an announcer's impression, it's really good golf geek content. Don't try too hard to be funny. There were good anecdotes about each player.
It has come quite a bit.

“This is not a hobby” is one of the iconic words Kisner uttered during his career. Now others are using it to describe his broadcasting abilities.
Will golf become a part-time job for him now?
I don't think so, as the former Georgia Bulldog's competitive streak is still within him.
Kevin Kisner's broadcasting career has officially begun. In fact, this may be his hobby.

After NBC and Paul Azinger parted ways, the broadcaster has tried several different analysts. Kisner hasn't given up golf yet, but people would love to see him in the booth full time.
Kevin Kisner is doing a very good job replacing Paul Azinger as NBC golf analyst. Great humor and teaches me things I don't know (which is a lot) Friday night golf from Maui is great to watch…

Kisner will continue to appear on NBC's broadcast team this weekend.
Will the 39-year-old join them in the future? The answer is yes.
NBC hired him to help broadcast the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February.
People seem to like his laid-back attitude and personality. Kisner's dry humor and quick wit added something to the reporting. Will it last? Kisner hasn't retired so it's uncertain. However, his broadcast debut was a great addition to his first PGA Tour event of 2024.
