Kevin Spacey cries during Piers Morgan interview, claims he owes millions in legal fees

Actor Kevin Spacey broke down in tears Tuesday as he spoke about the financial difficulties he’s facing after a years-long legal battle over sexual harassment allegations.

Former “House of Cards” actor Speaking in an interview On Tuesday’s episode of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” he revealed that his Baltimore home has been foreclosed and will be auctioned, and he’s facing “millions of dollars” in unpaid legal fees.

The moment began when TV presenter Piers Morgan asked Spacey where he now lives, causing the actor to appear teary-eyed and look down.

After a moment, Spacey said, “Well, it’s funny you asked that question.”

“This week, the house I was living in in Baltimore went into foreclosure and my house is going to be auctioned, so I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my stuff away,” he continued. “So the answer to that question is, I don’t know where I’m going to live from now on.”

Spacey has faced a string of accusations of sexually assaulting several actors and crew members, including members of the Netflix hit show “House of Cards,” which led to his firing from the show in 2017.

Last year, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled that Spacey and his production company must pay the producers of “House of Cards” more than $30 million for losses resulting from his firing. The arbitrator found that Spacey violated his contractual obligations by “engaging in specific conduct with respect to multiple staff members during each of the five seasons that he starred in and served as an executive producer on “House of Cards.”

Last July, Spacey was acquitted of sexual assault charges by a London jury that centered on allegations from four men going back two decades. In 2022, a New York jury found Spacey not liable for assault in a civil lawsuit brought by actor Anthony Rapp, who said Spacey had solicited sexual favours from him in the 1980s.

When Morgan asked why his Baltimore home was being foreclosed on, Spacey replied, “Because I can’t pay my debts.”

The Oscar winner later said there were “a few times” when he thought he would have to file for bankruptcy, but that he “managed to avoid it.”

When asked how much money he had, Spacey paused, looked to the side, then said, “I don’t have any.”

“Well, I mean… you have some understanding of legal fees. I have a lot of legal fees that I haven’t paid yet,” he continued, acknowledging he is in debt.

When Morgan asked Spacey how much he owed, Spacey again appeared emotional.

“That’s a lot of money — millions of dollars,” he finally answered. “And the house itself is millions of dollars.”

When asked what he would do next, Spacey replied, “I’m going to get on a horse.”

Spacey denies the allegations. But he acknowledged in an interview on Tuesday She said his behaviour “crossed boundaries” with “excessive touching” and “sexual contact that I knew was unwanted.”

The actor seemed put off by Morgan’s use of the word “groper” in reference to the allegations against him, telling the presenter: “I agree that molester is a very strange word.”

“I’ve personally always been a person who has treated people well and been kind. That’s how I treat people. That’s who I am. When I go out with someone, I don’t want to be aggressive, I want to be kind and see if they respond positively,” Spacey said. “So I don’t think that word itself is relevant to my experience.”
