Since the fires broke out around Los Angeles County, a growing number of Hollywood celebrities have criticized California's leaders for their repeated failures, with some calling for their resignation. They include Mel Gibson, James Woods, Zachary Levi, Sarah Foster, Dean Cain, Justin Bateman, and Adam Carolla.
Their criticisms come as much of the mainstream news media seeks to protect Democrats by portraying criticism as the politicization of the ongoing catastrophe. They also make the case for climate change, claiming that the disaster is a result of global warming.
But destruction has already reached record levels, making it increasingly difficult for state and local leaders to avoid responsibility.
As Breitbart News reported, under Bass' leadership, the city of Los Angeles has slashed funding for the fire department in recent months. The final budget approved by the Los Angeles City Council included $17.5 million in cuts to the department.
