Kia announced a recall of its Telluride SUV on Friday, warning owners of 2020-2024 models to park outdoors and away from other vehicles and buildings due to an apparent fire hazard.

The automaker has issued an “open-air parking” recall for more than 462,869 vehicles.
According to a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), if the power seat slide knob sticks, the front power seat motor can easily overheat and cause a vehicle fire.
The recall applies to certain vehicles manufactured from January 9th onwards.NumberUntil May 29, 2019NumberAccording to the NHTSA, it is scheduled to be released by 2024.
According to NHTSA, dealers will install brackets for power seat switchback covers and replace seat slide knobs free of charge.

Kia says warning signs of a problem include a “burning or melting smell,” smoke coming from under the seats or an inability to adjust the power seats.
