Kid Rock describes the White House dinner with Trump, Maher, and Smith as unforgettable.

Kid Rock Discusses Dinner with Trump and Other Celebrities

On Friday, Kid Rock appeared on “Fox & Friends” and shared details about a recent dinner he had with President Donald Trump, comedian Bill Maher, and ESPN host Stephen A. Smith.

Amid discussions regarding the Michigan Senate race and Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed, Kid Rock mentioned that he and his dinner companions found common ground on a significant topic. He stated, “Last night, I’m having dinner at the White House with the president, Bill Maher, and Stephen A. Smith. We all agreed that socialism and communism should not have a place in our government,” then referenced El-Sayed, adding, “This guy is screaming socialism.”

Social Media Posts Challenge El-Sayed’s Claims

When asked about the dinner, Kid Rock described it as an exceptional experience filled with great conversation. “It was epic,” he exclaimed. “There were so many points we discussed; I could talk for an hour about it. Two Democrats and two Republicans sat down, broke bread, shared laughs, and tackled tough issues together.” He elaborated on the varied topics brought up by Maher and Smith.

Kid Rock recalled the discussions ranging from socialism and communism to the war in Iran. He also mentioned a poignant point made by Maher regarding efforts to secure interpreters from Afghanistan who had assisted the U.S. He noted that Smith actively participated in discussing issues such as unemployment rates for Black women and financial support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), reminding everyone that Trump had allocated $174 million to HBCUs in 2016.

Support for HBCUs and Their Funding

Kid Rock emphasized Smith’s concern that Trump’s policies might discourage corporate donations to HBCUs. He asserted, “I want to clarify that we absolutely support and encourage corporations to fund HBCUs and contribute to them. Education is crucial for strengthening Black families.” This dinner wasn’t their first, as Maher revealed plans for another dinner with the president in the near future.

“I’m having dinner with him again next week,” Maher shared during a conversation on his podcast. Upon reflecting on his previous dinner with Trump, Maher described how the engagement felt important despite their differences, saying, “It’s like being called a ‘hockey puck’ by Don Rickles; it’s just how he talks.”

New Album and Collaborations

On the same day, Kid Rock spoke on “Outnumbered” about his upcoming album titled “Halfway 2 Jesus,” which features collaborations with notable artists such as Eminem and Lil Wayne. He explained the dynamics behind these collaborations, indicating how they had to shift song choices to find the right fit.

Kid Rock expressed admiration for his collaborators, saying, “Lil Wayne came through last minute and just nailed it.” He highlighted the diverse backgrounds of all the artists and contributors involved in the project, remarking on how they all united to create a meaningful piece of work. “My message is about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” he concluded, emphasizing its significance over personal promotion.
