Kid Rock's Rock the Country festival in Anderson, South Carolina has been canceled.

Just days after Shinedown announced they would no longer participate, the Kid Rock-led Rock the Country festival has officially canceled its South Carolina show. The event, initially set for July 25th and 26th in Anderson, has been called off due to, well, “unforeseen circumstances.”

In a statement, Anderson County Executive Rusty Burns expressed regret over the cancellation, saying they had been proud to host Rock the Country for the past two years. It had attracted huge crowds and generated significant economic benefits for the area. “Of course, we are disappointed that Rock the Country will not be returning to Anderson this year,” he noted.

The festival was expected to feature a star-studded lineup, including Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, and other artists like Creed, Brantley Gilbert, and Ludacris, among others. However, following Shinedown’s sudden withdrawal, many fans seemed quite disheartened, viewing the decision as a cautionary tale.

Shinedown took to social media to explain their reasoning, emphasizing their commitment to unity over division. “Our band is focused on bringing people together through music,” they stated. They expressed understanding that their choice might be controversial but felt it was essential to steer clear of any event that could foster further division.

Moving forward, Rock the Country is planning to tour various states in 2026, including places like Georgia, Texas, Florida, and New York, as part of its celebration of 250 years of American independence. Their website suggests this festival emphasizes community strength and shared stories that resonate beyond the event itself.
