Conservatives Organize Alternative Show for Super Bowl Halftime

President Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Franklin Graham, and other conservatives are gearing up to protest Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance.

Turning Point USA, expressing outrage over a comment made by the Puerto Rican rapper about needing to learn Spanish to appreciate his show, has decided to create its own halftime event featuring Kid Rock.

This move is described as a “cross-country attack” in the conservative culture wars and is also seen as a tribute to Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, according to his close associate, Andrew Corbett.

Kirk, who passed away in 2025, was known for voicing his opinions on social media regarding the Super Bowl halftime show, often criticizing what he deemed inappropriate content over the years. Corbett mentioned that Kirk viewed the halftime show as a significant cultural battleground.

“Charlie was really fixated on the halftime show,” Corbett shared, noting Kirk’s goal was to reform culture. “So we thought, ‘Why not create a show that families can all enjoy?'” He emphasized that their production will feature popular songs and well-known artists.

Trump backs this initiative and plans to watch the Super Bowl from a party in Palm Beach, hinting at a possible surprise for viewers of Turning Point’s show. The White House confirmed that Trump prefers Kid Rock’s performance over Bad Bunny’s.

The halftime event will showcase Kid Rock along with artists like Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, available on platforms like YouTube, X, Rumble, and conservative networks such as TBN and Real America’s Voice.

Kid Rock remarked on the pivot towards representing a segment of the country that feels excluded by Hollywood’s narratives, stating, “We just play for home,” emphasizing values like love for America, football, and faith.

Bad Bunny’s planned performance has ignited controversy in America’s culture wars, especially given his past criticisms of the Trump administration. His light-hearted comment on Saturday Night Live regarding learning Spanish stoked further outrage, although he later suggested it was all about enjoying the music.

This controversy deepened with the NFL’s pairing of Bad Bunny with Green Day, a band known for its anti-Trump sentiments, adding tension to the situation.

Trump has publicly stated he will not watch the halftime show due to the inclusion of performers like Bad Bunny and Green Day, describing them as poor choices that promote negativity.

Vance expressed excitement about the lineup for the TPUSA Halftime Show, which includes Kid Rock. Meanwhile, Franklin Graham shared his disapproval of the NFL, mentioning the moral decline he perceives in halftime shows. He plans to support the Turning Point event, which he believes celebrates family and faith.

While performing at the Super Bowl is a significant opportunity for artists, it often becomes a site of controversy. Past incidents, like the notable exposure scandal involving Janet Jackson and criticism of immigration policy by Jennifer Lopez, have made headlines.

Corbett acknowledged the frustration many Americans feel regarding mainstream programming. “People love the NFL and sports, but it seems like it’s becoming less representative of us,” he noted.

Kid Rock stressed that their alternative show stems not from hatred, but rather from love for their audience, music, and country.
