An American pastor was tempted during a prayer service at the muzzle of South Africa, was rescued. Tennessee missionary Josh Sullivan was rescued Tuesday amid interdisciplinary law enforcement efforts at his home in the Eastern Cape. Three temptants were killed, but Sullivan was rescued unharmed.
“As officers approached the house, they observed a vehicle on the property,” police said. statement I said. “The suspect in the vehicle is said to have fired fire on the team when he saw law enforcement.”
Officers returned the fire and fatally wounded the three suspects. Sullivan was found in the same vehicle.
“Miraculously unharmed, he was quickly evaluated by medical professionals and is currently in excellent condition,” the statement said.
Sullivan’s Home Church is a Fellowship Baptist located in Maryville, Tennessee. The 45-year-old missionary was lured at gunpoint last week by a group of men who stole and stolen a truck.
“We were delighted to share that missionary Josh Sullivan was rescued safely. After a day of uncertainty and passionate prayer, we are delighted with the faithfulness and protection of a great God,” Sullivan’s friend Missionary Mark Coffee wrote on Facebook. “We would like to thank the countless people who prayed, encouraged and supported us throughout this time. We are deeply grateful for your care, and we are also grateful to the local authorities and rescue team who brought Josh home.
“More than anything,” wrote Coffee. Jesus Christ. He supported Josh through captivity, comforted our hearts and reminded us that he was a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). ”
Sullivan has a wife and two young children.
“Thank you for the prayer,” Coffee wrote. “Please continue to lift up as Sullivan’s family recovers and pray for the ongoing gospel work in South Africa.”
