Kiefer Sutherland Allegedly Assaults Rideshare Driver

New information has surfaced regarding Kiefer Sutherland’s alleged assault on a rideshare driver. Authorities report that Sutherland supposedly struck the driver multiple times and attempted to strangle him during an incident on January 12.

According to reports, the Uber driver managed to escape the situation, noting that Sutherland appeared to be intoxicated. Following the incident, Fox News Digital reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department and Sutherland’s representatives for further comments.

There were indications from dispatch audio that Sutherland was pursuing the rideshare driver, which raises concerning implications about the encounter.

Minutes after the altercation, emergency services confirmed that Sutherland had ceased his pursuit. An official was heard on audio stating, “The suspect is no longer following the victim and is now in the back of the victim’s vehicle.” This raises questions about what happened right before and after the attack.

Initial reports indicate that officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded around 12:15 a.m. near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue due to an assault complaint from the rideshare driver. It’s alleged that Sutherland entered the rideshare vehicle, physically harmed the driver, and made threats.

After being arrested, the 59-year-old actor was released later that same day on a bail of $50,000. Fortunately, the driver did not sustain injuries that required immediate medical attention, but the investigation continues to unfold.

This isn’t Sutherland’s first brush with the law involving physical altercations; back in May 2009, he was charged with third-degree assault after an incident involving designer Jack McCollough. Although they issued a joint statement afterward claiming that they resolved their issues, Sutherland’s past raises eyebrows amid these new allegations.
