A teacher in the Balib School District in Idaho has stepped down after openly expressing joy over Charlie Kirk’s death.

The individual, known as “Aunt Tifa” in the drag community, made a disturbing post following Kirk’s tragic death on September 10, 2025.

According to Idaho Dispatch, the student teacher later resigned and expressed regret for his comments. He mentioned, “Yes, my comments were not well thought out; I regret everything I said.”

He stated he would never return to teaching and plans to seek “intensive therapy” for himself.

“I’ve made the decision to step down and won’t be involved in education again,” he added. “I also want therapy to prevent this from happening again. Please remove any articles that include my personal information.”

The school district was already aware of “inappropriate” posts on social media, presumably from this teacher. They reassured parents that the individual is no longer employed and emphasized that such hate speech doesn’t reflect their community values.

“Our focus continues to be on educating children and ensuring their safety,” the district indicated.

This reaction comes amid ongoing concerns about safety for educators across the country in light of shooting incidents.

As reported elsewhere, a special education teacher in Massachusetts named Samantha Marengo allegedly shared a video of herself laughing and singing in reaction to Kirk’s death.

At Wachusett Regional High School in Massachusetts, teachers reportedly faced scrutiny for their responses on social media, including dismissive remarks about empathy.

Additionally, another teacher from South Carolina expressed controversial sentiments about the state of the country following Kirk’s murder.

This news comes as Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced that over 100 teachers will have their licenses suspended due to inappropriate comments made about Kirk’s death.
