Kilmar Abrego Garcia Said to Be Engaged by Criminal for Illegal Immigration Smuggling into U.S.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating a case involving a convicted human smuggler who allegedly hired Abrego Garcia to recruit undocumented immigrants, subsequently leading to a new report submitted to the United States.

According to records from Breitbart News, Democrats in both the House and Senate are urging the return of Abrego Garcia from El Salvador following the deportation of President Donald Trump along with other gang affiliates, as part of an agreement with President Naive Bukere.

Abrego Garcia is known for his long-standing affiliation with the MS-13 gang and has faced accusations of domestic violence in Maryland.

Recently, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) made public body camera footage from a 2022 traffic stop conducted by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, showing officers pulling over Abrego Garcia, who was driving a vehicle linked to 38-year-old Jose Ramon Hernandez Reyes.

The vehicle had nine occupants, yet none possessed luggage. Troopers suspected potential smuggling of undocumented individuals into the U.S. However, after consulting with federal agents, Abrego Garcia was permitted to continue his journey.

Hernandez Reyes, a convicted criminal currently serving time in a federal prison in Alabama, faces a 2020 indictment for operating a human smuggling operation involving the transport of undocumented migrants across the borders into the U.S.

An FBI agent, as mentioned in an ABC News report, discussed Hernandez Reyes’ assertion that he employed Abrego Garcia to assist in smuggling operations within the U.S.

The ABC News report notes:

Hernandez-Reyes told investigators he used to run a “taxi service” in Baltimore. He claimed he met Abrego Garcia around 2015 and had hired him several times to transport undocumented migrants from Texas to various locations in the United States, although the details regarding the frequency and timing of these trips remain unclear.

The DOJ is actively probing allegations of human smuggling related to Abrego Garcia from Tennessee, purportedly engaged by Hernandez Reyes.

Several Democratic leaders, including Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), have called for efforts to free Abrego Garcia from incarceration in El Salvador.

Senator Van Hollen has expressed support for Abrego Garcia, labeling him an innocent victim caught in Trump’s broader deportation strategy.
