Kim Kardashian shared a heartfelt memory of her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., revealing how he foresaw her future success during their last interaction before he passed away from cancer in 2003.
In a recent biography titled “Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future,” Kim recounted, “The last thing my dad ever said to me was, ‘I know you’re going to be good — I can see it,’” while speaking to author Jonathan Van Meter.
She remembered him saying, “It’s as if I can see what your whole life is going to be like,” although he didn’t elaborate much and seemed somewhat disengaged during that time.
Now 46, Kim reflected on watching a movie with Robert Sr., who was just 59 at the time of his passing. She vividly recalled him placing his hand on her leg and how they were snugly seated on an L-shaped couch together.
“He said, ‘You’ll be fine. But take care of the other ones. And make sure your brother’s good,’” she noted, referring to her siblings: Kourtney, who’s now 47; Khloé, now 42; and Rob, who’s 39.
Kim also recounted her parting words to her father when he was bedridden and unable to communicate effectively. “I knew his vitals were almost gone, and the last thing I said to him was, ‘Dad, thank you so much for everything that you’ve taught me, from how to be a good person, to how you did my homework with me, everything I’m going to do with my kids one day,’” she expressed.
She emphasized, “And I’m going to take the lesson of you being in my life and carry that forward.”
Robert Sr. succumbed to esophageal cancer on September 30. He shared Kim and her siblings with his ex-wife, Kris Jenner, who he was married to from 1978 until 1991.
The couple separated following Kris’s affair with soccer player Todd Waterman, a decision she later regretted deeply.
In her own reflections, Kris remarked, “I think that I fell into a situation where I thought that the grass was greener somewhere else. I made a huge mistake. That’s my life’s biggest regret,” as noted in a 2023 episode of “The Kardashians.”
After their divorce, Robert Sr. married Jan Ashley in 1998, but the marriage lasted only a year. He married Ellen Pierson shortly before he passed away. Kris, on the other hand, remarried Caitlyn Jenner soon after her divorce from Robert Sr., but they too divorced in 2015 after having two daughters, Kendall and Kylie.
