Kim Kardashian Speaks About Health Concerns
Kim Kardashian disclosed that she recently underwent surgery to remove certain irregularities from her esophagus during an episode of her family’s show, “The Kardashians.”
In the latest episode released on Thursday, the 46-year-old reality star mentioned feeling unusually tired, initially attributing it to her busy lifestyle.
“I’ve been feeling a little off lately. My throat is like killing me today,” she shared candidly in a confessional.
Earlier in the episode, a doctor informed her that she showed signs of esophageal inflammation and suggested the possibility of esophagitis. She confessed, “So, I’ve seen a couple of doctors, and it’s been heavy on my mind lately.”
The healthcare professional proposed a round of medication followed by a procedure to better diagnose her condition and determine if any further steps were needed.
Kardashian admitted to not sharing her situation with too many people, saying, “I think it’s, you know, something that really hits home for me, and I just don’t really want to go there with my dad having passed away from esophageal cancer.” She’s hopeful that medication might resolve the issue, although uncertainty looms over her situation.
She revealed in the preview for the next week’s episode, “The doctor says my esophagus has these irregularities and I have to have them cut out. That’s the same thing my dad had.” Robert Kardashian passed away from esophageal cancer in 2003.
In the preview, she was seen wearing a hospital gown, with her mother, Kris Jenner, beside her for support.
Kardashian had first mentioned her diagnosis of esophagitis about a month ago in a trailer for the season, where she talked about her condition while getting ready for her day. When a producer inquired if it was the same ailment that led to her father’s death, she affirmed it was.
