Kim Novak worries that the biopic featuring Sydney Sweeney will be overly sexual.

Kim Novak has voiced her concerns regarding her upcoming biopic featuring Sidney Sweeney.

The 92-year-old actress, in a notable interview with the Guardian, shared her thoughts on “Scandalous!”, which focuses on her real-life romance with Sammy Davis Jr. The film’s provocative title seemed to catch her off guard.

“I don’t find our relationship scandalous,” Novak said.

“He was someone I deeply cared for. We shared a lot, including our journeys of self-acceptance.”

“But I’m worried they’ll portray it as entirely sexual,” Novak continued.

Sweeney takes on the role of Novak, while British actor David Johnson portrays the iconic entertainer.

Novak was a prominent figure in the 50s film scene, starring in classics like “Dizzy” (1958) and “Phffft” (1954).

Interestingly, Sweeney’s “Euphoria” co-star Colman Domingo is set to direct “Scandalous!”, though filming hasn’t begun yet.

Sweeney, at just 27, seems to have already begun immersing herself in the role. At the 2025 Met Gala, she donned a glamorous Miu Miu gown, inspired by Novak’s iconic looks from the 1967 film “Legend of Lylah Clare.”

However, Sweeney is also stirring controversy this year over her entrepreneurial endeavors, including the sale of water infused with her bath, leading to criticism of her promotional campaigns.

In light of the backlash, Sweeney opted not to comment on the contentious advertising in her first interview since the incident. She did, however, find humor in the double standard surrounding public reactions, noting a contrast with Jacob Elordi’s similar idea that was received with much more enthusiasm.
