King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended a service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. It comes a week after the royal family skipped Prince Harry’s event at the same historic venue.
Charles, 75, and his wife Camilla, 76, wore red robes as they attended the dedication ceremony for the Order of the British Empire at the cathedral on Wednesday.

However, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla did not attend the anniversary ceremony as they attended the season’s first garden party three miles away at Buckingham Palace with other senior members of the royal family.
Ahead of the Invictus Games service, it was announced that Charles would not be able to see his son while Harry was in the UK on a three-day trip to mark the Games’ 10th anniversary.

The Presentation of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) takes place every four years. Charles is an OBE Sovereign, and Camilla serves as Grand Master, second-in-command of the Order.

The hour-long service at St Paul’s Cathedral was attended by 2,000 honorees from across the UK and the Commonwealth, according to the Evening Standard.
The OBE was established by King George V in 1917 to honor contributions to Britain’s war effort, but was later expanded to include contributions to the arts, science, charity and public service.

Prince William, 40, did not attend the service as he was attending an investiture ceremony, while the Princess of Wales, 41, was taking a break from royal duties due to cancer treatment.

After their visit to the UK, Prince Harry and his wife were invited by the Chief of Defense Staff to visit the African country, and they visited Nigeria with his wife Meghan Markle. The two returned to the United States on Tuesday.
