Former UFC champion Sean Strickland touched on all the controversial topics possible ahead of his fight in Sydney, Australia.
I've spoken to a media member before UFC 312Strickland created some highlight packages of his best kips, comments and bleep moments as he prepared to fight Dricus du Plessis for his second middleweight title.
Strickland began by discussing Adolf Hitler on a podcast, and then discussing recent rants by fellow UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell, who made the headline. Mitchell described historical figures as “good guys,” but not “the best guy ever.”
After a reporter commented on his mustache, Strickland replied: [Ku Klux] The Clan met Bryce Mitchell, but I don't share the same values. ”
Strickland said he was troubled by Mitchell's subsequent apology, but he didn't think the fighter was a bad guy, but he didn't think he was “radical” online. Ta.
“If you're part of s**t, you've just doubled and become part of s**t….I don't think Blythe is a Nazi. * *Uneducated Kingbucka of Arkansas.”
“Companies kill people every day.”
Strickland also touched on gun and gun control while in Australia, Tell the reporter“You were doing one mass shooting and you gave up all the f**king guns. It was kind of pathetic, [but] I'm not going to blame you. ”
The Anaheim native then mentioned Australia's “lack of freedom” and chuckled the room for having “hate speech” codified by the law despite being in a “modern country.”
Strickland compared Australia to the US and said it was managed by large companies using “brainwashing tactics.”
“Companies kill people every day,” Strickland said, referring to Luigi Mangionne, a man accused of assassinating the CEO of a health insurance company.
The middleweight then explained that while he believes “to some degree murder is wrong,” the CEO's shooting sparked global conversation.
“All you need is a 3D printer and a suppressor, and you can change the world of f**king,” he added.
In addition to telling reporters, he decided to bring his “Retard” opponent back to kindergarten on a “short bus”, but Strickland said he's definitely improved since his final fight. .
“I did a lot of running, a lot of cardio, I lift a lot of weights,” the fighter joked. He then declared that if it hadn't improved, he would need to take more f**king steroids.
The 33-year-old also teased several reporters and asked if he had a “liberal arts degree” in the hopes of marching with Israel trying to “change the world.” He also cited an interaction with a Canadian journalist in early 2024. He was called “its f**king communist.”
Strickland and reporters discussed transgenderism and the Canadian state in Toronto, with fighters calling him a “co-sick” and a “weak man.”
“Do you know how much s**t you got from that? When I teased the Transformers?” Strickland recalled.
Two titles will be featured, UFC 312 in New South Wales, Australia. Du Plessis and Strickland fight for the 185 pound belt, while Zhang Weili and Tatiana Suarez fight for the 115 pound title for the women. The event will air on Pay-per-view on Saturday nights at 10pm Eastern time.
